"Elementary chaos theory tells us that all robots will eventually turn against their masters and run amok in an orgy of blood and the kicking and the biting with the metal teeth and the hurting and shoving."
—Professor Frink, The Simpsons

TECHNICA Q&A: ROGER PENROSE
Roger Penrose Roger Penrose, author of The Road to Reality, took some time off from charting the laws of the universe to answer our Q&A. You'll learn what inspires him to write (or, rather, doesn't), that he prefers Douglas Adams to Scott Adams, and why he would choose to be reincarnated as Galileo. Read the Q&A and save 30% on The Road to Reality, for a limited time.

TECHNICA Q&A: LANCE BERELOWITZ
Lance BerelowitzLance Berelowitz, the author of Dream City: Vancouver and the Global Imagination, takes a turn on our Tech Q&A. Discover Lance's surprising answers to questions like, "If you could be reincarnated for one day to live the life of any scientist or writer, who would you choose and why?" Plus, you save 30% when you buy Dream City today!

TECHNICA Q&A: STEPHEN AND CHRIS DAUBERT
Stephen and Chris DaubertThe authors of Threads from the Web of Life take the Technica Q&A, offering such fodder for future car-ride trivia as what drives them to create, their favorite childhood books, and what they do to relax (sadly, answering Technica Q&A questions didn't make the list). Read all about it and save 30% on Threads from the Web of Life for a limited time.

FUP'S FAVORITES
Fup's FavoritesHere are some of Fup's personal favorite titles from our new medical and life science books. Often imitated, never duplicated, third edition of The Anatomy Coloring Book is the fun, Crayola-riffic way to learn the human body. HISTORY OF SCIENCE
History of ScienceCharles Robert Darwin was born on February 12, 1809, in Shrewsbury, England. He was a British naturalist who proposed the theory of evolution. Darwin's observations from his five-year voyage on the HMS "Beagle" helped lead him to study the transmutation of species and, in 1838, develop his theory of natural selection. His 1859 book The Origin of Species established evolution as the dominant scientific theory.

eBOOKS
Dating for DummiesBecause one cannot survive on pure science and technology alone, our eBook pick is Dating for Dummies by Dr. Joy Browne. Revised with new and updated content, America's favorite radio psychologist demystifies the whole dating process, from getting a date, plotting the place, and having a great time to moving beyond a first date.

DOUG BROWN'S SPACE FACTOID
Doug Brown's FactiodsIn movies, the moon is usually portrayed as orbiting closely around the Earth, as if they were dancing around each other. In reality, the moon's average distance from Earth is 384,000 km (around 230,000 miles). Seeing as the Earth's diameter is around 12,700 km, and the Moon's diameter is 3,400 km, the correct proportions are closer to a tennis ball orbiting a basketball — at a distance of 7 meters (23 feet). Try it, to see how far apart they are. Space is a big, mostly empty, place.
